Zografou beach is a small out of the way beach south of Vourvourou. It is organized by a campsite called Porto Elea and they have really done a great job. The beach itself is a mix of sand and pebble and the water has a rocky bottom. Behind the beach there is a green park that is shaded and ideal for children to play. The north part of the beach has more pebble, is not organized and protected by a cliff that gives some shade in the afternoon. The southern developed part is sandier and offers sun beds with umbrellas, a beach bar, a restaurant and toilets.
Entrance to the beach is normally through the camp (Porto Elea) and there is a charge of 3€ for parking. Many just park on the road and walk through the campsite to access the beach.
What’s great about Zografou
Well organized with a beach bar and restaurant. Has a boat launch. Camping with caravan rentals that have a good view. Good snorkeling by the rocks. And what’s not…
A little difficult to get to with the dirt road and the campsite blocking free access. The sea bed is pebble and rock so be sure to wear shoes.Take the turnoff to Porto Elea about 9 km south of Vourvourou. Follow the road down until you reach the camping gate.
