Micro Karidi beach in Vourvourou is the smaller sister beach to the popular Karidi beach. It is a natural continuation of Karidi beach that is divided by the Karidi’s southern promontory. Micro Karidi beach is slightly smaller and usually quieter than Karidi beach, and since it’s not as protected, you will find some waves.
The beach isn’t well organized, but there is a water sports kiosk that operates in season. There are no beach bars or restaurants, these can be found on the neighbor beach. The villas on Micro Karidi beach are private so avoid entering these homes to look for accomodation.
Like Karidi beach, Micro Karidi has a fine powdery white sand. The water is shallow with a sandy bottom that is ideal for children. The water is often calm and at times has small to medium waves.
What’s great about Micro Karidi
It’s similar to Karidi beach but with less people. It faces more south than Karidi and gives a view to Mount Athos. There is a decent parking lot behind the beach.
And what’s not…
The waves can wash up seaweed on the beach and it’s not kept clean like Karidi. There are no facilities.
To access this beach, either you park at Karidi beach and walk to Micro Karidi or we can recommend to drive through the neighborhood situated south of Vourvourou. From the back roads you get access to a decent parking lot just behind the beach.
