Agios Georgios is another one of the few off the radar beaches in Sithonia. Not just one beach but actually four beaches, two of these are overgrown with grass and are not good candidates as a good sunbathing beach but they would make a good camping spot. Usually there is no one on these beaches so they qualify as isolated beaches.
There is absolutely no development on these beaches. Just behind the main beach is a community of villas that don’t seem to be used very much so few people even use the beaches. Recently there some kind of development has begun so perhaps soon they will be occupied beaches. Because of it being a good beach and isolated, you may have nudists on these beaches.
The southern two beaches are nice sand beaches and the sea bottom has some rock shelf so swimming shoes would be a benefit but after the rock it turns to sand. Facing southwest you get the afternoon sun and sunsets.
What’s great about Agios Georgios
Good sand beaches well sheltered by the mountain. Few people come here. And what’s not…
Isolated beaches not difficult to get to but you need to drive on a dirt road. There is no organization. Rock shelf on the sea bottom.About 10 km south of Neos Marmaras. After the Porto Carras property line take the third road to the right to Azapiko. Follow this road for about half a kilometer to the coast and you will arrive at the first sandy beach. You will find one more beach south of here and two just north. The road is a dirt road.
