North Platanitsi is right in between Platanitsi beach and Orange beach. It is quite difficult to get to and you will need to park you car and walk in. This beach is considered an isolated beach, so nudists often appear with their tents and camp in some hidden cove. Here you can find your own private beach with direct access to the water for swimming and all with a Mt. Athos view.
There is absolutely no development on North Platanitsi, there isn’t even a road to get to it.
The beach is much the same as Orange beach, small patches of soft sand scattered throughout the rocks. The water is amazingly clear and the sea-bottom is sandy with rocks. Some places have more rocks so swimming shoes may come in handy. This area is great for snorkeling.
What’s great about North Platanitsi
Little piece of paradise on your own beach. Good snorkeling in the amazinly clear water. And what’s not…
Very difficult to get to.There are two ways to get to North Platanitsi beach:
- From Orange beach. Continue past the Orange beach parking to the south. A road takes you to the coast just north of Platanitsi, from here you need to walk south.
- From Platanitsi after you start down the Platanitsi road, there is a division in the road, stay left. This will take you to the north side of Platanitsi beach. From here you will need to walk about 200 m further north along the coast or through the trees and you will arrive at North Platanitsi beach.
