Palataki beach is a very isolated beach on Sithonia’s southern tip south of Porto Koufo. You cannot arrive at this part with a car unless you have a 4×4, or a mountain bike so chances are you will not cross another soul on Palataki.
There is no development on Palataki, but it seems like there had been plans for development at one time as there exist abandoned toilets and a barbecue by the beach.
The beach is just a pebble beach, no sand and so is the sea-bottom. If you swim here, bring swimming shoes. Because of the stones and the lack of sand, the water is exceptionally clear and no doubt good for snorkeling.
What’s great about Palataki Beach
Pure isolation, just you and the goats. Good snorkeling. And what’s not…
Very difficult to get to, recommend a motorbike or ATM.Heading south of Porto Koufo you take the road past the reservoir. Where the road divides, right will take you to Marathias beach so go left. You come to a small red house where you turn right. Follow this and then turn left up the dirt road going up the mountain. Continue until you are on the other side and you will see Palataki beach.
