To start the 2016 holiday season, Halkidiki will be the backdrop for the FIDE World Amateur Chess Championship for 2016 and the European Senior Team Championship.
From April 18-28, 2016, players will convene in the beautiful peninsula of Sithonia in Northern Greece for this international tournament. The games will take place in the conference center of the Anthemus Sea Resort located just 95 kilometers from the Thessaloniki airport.
Besides the 10 days of competition, the location is one of Norhern Greece’s prime holiday destinations with some of Greece’s best beaches and beach tourism. The cosmopolitan village of Neos Marmaras is close to the venue where you can enjoy the your evenings by trying some of the local restaurants.
